Clean Up

[edit]

I think it should have more infomation about the house and not as much on John Howard. Does anybody else agree?

  • Yes, but that problem needs to be solved by finding out more about the house. - [[User:Matthew238|Matthew238i .

I agree.

Coordinates

[edit]

Here are the coordinates as found on Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=sydney,australia&t=k&ll=-33.851261,151.219162&spn=0.002789,0.006781&om=1 I'm not sure how to add this the right way. Might do this later if nobody else beats me to it.

We don't want any terrorists to be directing laser guided bombs towards our dear leader now do we? Grumpyyoungman01 04:04, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No we don't - but how would not putting the coordinates in Wikipedia help in achieving that? Penedo 01:24, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Photo

[edit]

I have a photo of Kirribilli House, but no idea how to upload it! I took it myself, so no copyright issues. Can someone help me? Ta. --Cricketgirl 00:22, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded it, but having looked at Admiralty House, I'm not sure I'm right... sorry... can someone verify? Cricketgirl 23:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have removed photo again, as it turned out it was Admiralty House (now I'm really confused about where Kirribilli House actually is!) Sorry for confusion Cricketgirl 23:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gatecrasher

[edit]

I heard about a guy who jumped the ferry and swam ashore? Why is that on here? Katana Geldar 00:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Because some random protester is not really that notable in the scheme of things. There was a highly publicised incident a few years ago where some Greenpeace fellas jumped the fence, climbed the house and put solar panels on the roof, but that's not in there either because it's not particularly relevant to the building itself. Wikinews, perhaps. --Yeti Hunter (talk) 01:41, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of section

[edit]

Is there a particular reason for this edit, which removed a large section of the text? The edit summary wasn't very useful. -- Chuq (talk) 14:29, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Public access

[edit]

Comment moved from Talk:Kirribilli House/Comments where it is unlikely to be seen. Astronaut (talk) 04:58, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest there be details given as to the access to the public of Kirribilli House. I don't know what it is, so will have to look elsewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.111.100.140 (talk) 03:21, 14 August 2009

Sophienberg & Thomas Holt

[edit]

I'm intrigued by either the disconnected chronology or geography of, http://www.liverpoolmuseum.com.au/files/StoriesofLiverpoolPDFs/Book4.pdf Thomas "Holt bought Sophienberg and Collingwood in 1843." "Holt was involved in almost every important company and committee in colonial New South Wales. Holt played an active role in public life. He had interests in railways, fire insurance, gold shipping, and banking. He was a founder of the Australian Mutual Provident Society (AMP) and their first meeting was held at Sophienberg. He was an active supporter of Caroline Chisholm’s scheme to find employment for young women immigrants. His son’s godfather was the ill-fated explorer Ludwig Leichhardt. Holt sold Sophienberg in 1853 to J H Atkinson, another wool merchant, and retired in 1854." Is Kirribilli House the same Sophienberg and if so why is that chronology overlapping?
